Since version 1.4, SiteFerret Professional will operate with either an SQL 2000 server or an Access database. The installation routine lets you specify your database connection and the software package includes stored procedures and SQL database installation scripts.
Improved Indexing
We've added one hit indexing so you can now index your entire site in one go. The new indexing routine includes visual display of files and folders that have been indexed while the indexing is occurring.
Updating the Index
SiteFerret Pro now allows you to update the index with a single click. Last-modified dates of files are checked against the current version of the file held in the index. New files are added and deleted files are removed.
Word Exclusions
We have added an updateable word exclusion list, managed through the SF control panel. Common words included in this list will be excluded from the index, drastically reducing the overall size of your index database.
Other New Features
Use the control panel to change the script timeout settings in order to handle long index operations. Compact your Access database through the control panel to reduce the size and optimize it for speedier results. |
